The Wexford Winterland Festival brings the magic of Christmas to Wexford town this festive season. There is something for all the family in our action packed programme of events with the return of Wexford People Wexford on Ice, the Christmas Express and Santa’s North Pole Experience to town.
Winterland Parade
The festivities will kick off with the traditional Winterland Parade on Saturday 24th of November to welcome Santa to Wexford town, where he will turn on the spectacular Christmas lights, illuminating the streets and bringing Christmas cheer to all. The Winterland Parade is brought to you by the Wexford Retail Group funded by generous donations from local businesses.
Santa’s North Pole Experience
Santa’s North Pole Experience will return to Wexford this year, transporting your family from Wexford Quay to the North Pole, where your little ones will be immersed in the spirit of Christmas through an interactive and theatrical experience. Wander through the Enchanted Forest, explore the North Pole Village and post letters to Santa in his post office. Children will become honorary elves for the day helping Santa’s chief elf prepare the toys in his workshop, just in time for Christmas. Every child will receive a gift from Santa Claus and there will be plenty of photo opportunities.
Santa’s North Pole Experience runs from Friday 30th of November to Sunday the 23rd of December. Tickets are €8 per adult, €16 for children up to 12 years of age, €8 for toddlers 1 – 2 years of age, and babies are free. Booking opens on Monday 3rd of September at 12noon and you can also buy tickets in the Lantern Presents Box Office, 1 North Main Street, Wexford or by phone 053-9199199.
It’s time to get your skates on as Wexford People Wexford On Ice returns to the Quay. The ever popular state-of-the-art ice rink re-opens on Saturday 24th of November and runs until Sunday 6th January 2019. Enjoy skating under the stars with group rates, family tickets and sensory sessions available for all ages.
All aboard the Christmas Express at the Bullring where your little ones will enjoy a truly festive experience seeing the sights of Wexford while listening to special Christmas tales with Mrs. Claus and her elves. This beautifully ornate express train will take in the magical lights and sounds of Wexford town at Christmas. The journey lasts about 15 minutes and will enthral kids of all ages. The Christmas Express will run from Friday 30th of November and Sunday 23rd of December.
