The Wonderous Wexford Winterland 2023

Wexford Winterland, Santa's North Pole Experience

The Wonderous Wexford Winterland 2023

Wexford Winterland Festival has Christmas magic and festive fun by the sleigh load!

Wexford quay front will once again be a hive of festive activity with the return of the spectacular Winterland Parade, Santa’s North Pole Experience and Wexford on Ice.

Wexford Winterland Parade & Turning on of the Lights

Christmas will kick off in Wexford in a dazzle of music, magic and excitement when the spectacular Winterland Parade comes to town on Saturday, 25th of November. The Parade will start at 4pm, travelling from Selskar Square along the Main Street, past the Bullring and North Main Street.  It will turn down Anne Street, cross over onto the Quay and finish at Santa’s North Pole Experience.

Santa, Mrs Claus and the merry helpers will joyfully parade and dance their way through the streets of Wexford. This year, Jack Frost has an evil plan to ruin Christmas, a plan which he will not get away with if Snow White, Rapunzel and Cinderella have their way! With the help of all the boys and girls, the princesses will make sure the evil Jack Frost does not succeed.

The Winterland Parade is free for all to attend and is brought to you by The Wexford Retail Group, supported by Wexford County Council and Lantern.

The good news is that Santa is not returning to the North Pole but staying in Wexford.  From the 30th of November, Santa, Mrs. Claus and their hardest working helpers will be at Santa’s North Pole Experience on Wexford Quay.

Santa’s North Pole Experience

Santa’s helpers will show visitors to Santa’s Magic Sleigh.  Mrs. Claus will be busy in her picturesque parlour where she will get all the children involved in some arts and crafts. Santa will be waiting in his Majestic Library to meet all the boys and girls.  There will be plenty of time with Santa to relax, chat, and laugh at Santa’s collection of Christmas jokes.  Children can ask Santa all the Christmas secrets they ever wanted to know and talk about their Christmas wish list.  Santa will give each child a small gift to take home and a ‘Good List Certificate’!

Santa will also give visitors a Golden Ticket to the final stop in the North Pole Experience – The North Star Cinema.  Cosy up and enjoy a family festive short movie experience for ultimate feel good vibes (we won’t forget the popcorn!).

All trips to Santa’s North Pole Experience are wheelchair accessible and Santa and Mrs Claus can communicate via Lámh.  Furthermore, visits can be adapted to suit anyone with sensory concerns where volume levels throughout the experience are reduced and lighting is appropriately adjusted with no flash or strobe lighting.

Santa’s North Pole Experience will run from the 30th of November to the 23rd of December 2023.  Get your tickets here.

Wexford on Ice

Wexford on Ice is also back for the Christmas 2023 season! Once again, you can get your skates on and pirouette away on one of Ireland’s biggest, real ice rinks.

Sensory and wheelchair family skate sessions will take place on Saturday mornings.  These sessions give those who wouldn’t normally get the chance to go skating to have their very own special session with family or friends, where the music and lighting is turned down.

Wexford on Ice is open from the 1st of December 2023 to the 7th of January 2024.  Get your tickets here.
